Baptism

Baptism is a step in telling others that you are following Jesus.  It uses water as a symbol of the inner cleansing by God's Holy Spirit that happens when we invite God into our lives.  It is not a step toward being saved but rather a sign that someone has already made that spiritual decision and is ready to start serving God in a Christian community or church.
